Letter to drivers
To all drivers
An open letter
In recent years, much has changed in our sector. As a driver, you can see how driving prices are under pressure and systems work less and less to your advantage.
Taxiter originated from that experience. Not to make money quickly, but to build a fairer and more sustainable taxi network together.
Taxiter has an independent ownership, with a dedicated team behind the platform. This means that we can focus our resources and keep our costs as low as possible.
We start with 3% contribution, with the ambition to reduce this to 2% in the long term. As we grow, we collect more data to understand how to efficiently and affordably exploit a healthy platform.
We do not believe that growth automatically means higher costs for drivers. That's why we opt for an economical approach, smart marketing and direct investments in the network.
Transparency is part of this. We want to provide insight into our costs, including servers, data storage, Google, maintenance and marketing. If external costs increase unexpectedly, we will support this and communicate openly.
No monthly subscription of €80. No obligations. No acceptance rate.
We don't have all the answers. But we are willing to listen, to analyze and to improve together.
Taxi driver is not a system above drivers. It is a network in which drivers play an active role.
We also want to be honest about what happened today (24-09-2026) around Taxiter.
A Dutch Facebook group that probably prefers something else.. deleted messages and material contributions from Taxiter. Some of those contributions were intended to engage constructively with drivers.
For us, the question remains why substantive contributions do not always have the space to prove themselves. We have not been given any explanation.
If certain channels choose not to bring Taxiter to the attention of drivers, our mission does not stop.
The struggle to be heard goes on — not against other drivers, but for freedom of choice, transparency and space for new ideas.
At the same time, our doors are open to cooperation. With interbranch organisations such as the KNV to further strengthen and optimise our policy frameworks.
And where cooperation with the government can contribute to a strong, transparent and future-proof taxi market, that door is also open.
As long as man is driven by greed, new solutions will emerge that present themselves as progress.—But old patterns can survive.
Ask before anything else: Where am I going? Who takes me there? And what exactly do I agree to?
Capture it. As the Ten Commandments of Moses—or in modern terms: clear policy.
No one reads the fine print these days. Don't make the same mistake again.
With drivers starting to sign up nationally, it's not just about what's new. These are: what are the conditions—And they stay that way?
We build economically. We're communicating fairly. We grow together.
This is not a final product. This is a movement.
Together we take taxi back into our own hands.

Taxiter App

That's how Taxiter works.

From finding and taking a ride to navigation, payment, invoices and contact. Below you can see how the main components of the Taxiter app work.

Becoming a driver

Everything step by step from the app.

Registration as a driver goes step by step. The app provides and checks the necessary data and documents.

Personal information You fill in your personal and business details.
Documents Required documents such as driver's license, driver card, KIWA documents and taxi insurance are provided.
Vehicle The relevant vehicle data and conditions are linked to your driver profile.
Bank account Your bank account will be linked for the payout of travel proceeds.
Profile picture You add a profile photo so passengers can see who they're riding with.

Drivers App

The ride dashboard.

The ride dashboard is the central screen for drivers. Available Taxiter journeys relevant to your location and vehicle appear here.

Ritten are clearly displayed based on distance. Ritten closer to your current location appear at the top.

The dashboard will be updated automatically. When a ride is taken by another driver, it disappears from your available rides.

You decide which available rides you accept. There is no mandatory acceptance rate.

New rides can also be brought to your attention via push notifications.

Road categories

Rittens that match your vehicle.

Taxiter works with different ride categories. Drivers can indicate which categories they want to be available for.

Standard The regular Taxiter ride.
Comfort For vehicles complying with the conditions for the comfort category.
Minibus For suitable vehicles with a higher passenger capacity.
Direct A priority ride for passengers who want to find an available driver faster.

The available categories are tailored to the driver profile and vehicle. This only offers journeys for which the driver and the vehicle are eligible.

Reservations

Pre-planned rides in the same dashboard.

A pre-booked ride becomes clear as Reservation is shown.

Drivers eligible for the relevant ride category and conditions can accept the reservation from the dashboard.

Regular rides and reservations within the same ride environment remain visible.

Take a ride

From driving request to navigation.

When you select a ride, you will see the relevant ride information before you accept it.

After taking the journey, the necessary data will be available for the execution of the journey.

The driver can then navigate directly from the app to the pick-up address.

Navigation

One push to the right location.

Both the pickup address and the destination can be opened from Taxiter in Google Maps.

The selected location is automatically used for the navigation route. As a result, a driver does not need to take over the address manually.

Privacy

Share as little personal data as possible.

During a ride, a driver does not automatically see the passenger's personal telephone number.

Communication can take place directly from the app without both parties having to see each other's personal number.

For business communications, the taxi company's telephone number may be available.

Also when contact is necessary after a ride, for example because a passenger has left something in the taxi, a separate contact possibility can be used.

Privacy Shield

More rest on the ride.

With Privacy Shield, also called the earphone mode, the driver can indicate that passenger calls do not need to be audible via the telephone speaker.

The function can be switched on or off by the driver. A passenger can also ask if Privacy Shield can be used.

Less distraction. More focus on the road. More privacy during the ride.

Security

Sharing a ride with someone you trust.

A passenger can share a ride link with friends or family during a journey.

The receiver can thus follow the relevant driving information remotely.

Assessments

An assessment with room for context.

After a ride, passengers can give an assessment. There is also room for textual feedback.

This allows an assessment to be provided with additional context, for example when someone wants to explain what went well or less well during a ride.

Passengers can also choose to add a profile photo to their profile. This can help to recognize each other during collection.

Price

After the ride you see how the amount is built up.

After the end of the journey, the final ticket price is displayed.

Price — the basic amount of the journey.
Stopover contribution — where applicable.
Retrieving and waiting time — where applicable.
Tipping — when the passenger tips.
Additional booking amount — where applicable.

The relevant parts are then clearly incorporated in the final amount.

Pay

Different ways to pay.

Taxiter supports different payment methods, including iDEAL, Apple Pay, Google Pay and credit cards.

Any costs for the payment method used may be charged separately to the passenger.

The payment information is processed within the payment process of the journey and can be found in the corresponding journey data.

Invoices

Administration after the ride.

Once a ride is completed, the corresponding invoice details are available in the app.

Both passengers and drivers can find their relevant journey and invoice information.

For passengers

See what's available first.

Before booking a ride, the number of drivers in the vicinity can be shown.

In this way, the passenger subsequently gets more insight into the available capacity of the Taxiter network.

During booking, the available ride options and associated information are displayed before the ride is confirmed.

Recognition

Knowing who you're riding with.

Relevant driver and taxi information is displayed within the driving environment.

Upon completion of a journey, the passenger may find, inter alia, the driver's first name, the name of the taxi company and the relevant telephone number.

My Taxiter Milestone

Insight into your activity.

In My Taxiter Milestone drivers can view their own statistics and driving activity.

Completed rides contribute to the Taxiter network score. This provides insight into the development of your activity within the Taxiter network.
